Importing on the portal

Imports can be booked on the World Options portal and the process differs depending on courier and service booked.

TNT

This is booked straight on the portal. The system sends an email confirming the time and date of collection and a copy of the label and manifest to the email on the collection details. The local depot will make contact with shipper to confirm collection time.

DHL

The portal creates the label, DHL then send this label and an email to the email address on the collection details advising them how to contact their local DHL to book the collection slot.

This can only be done within the collection country; we can’t book the collection from the UK.

World Options account number can be provided to customers if required by local branch. It can be seen on the last label under  FRT section.

Some imports, collecting depot will not recognize tracking number and only way to get it booked is to provide the account number.

If the DHL collection fails, then you cannot schedule again. There are 2 options to arrange a collection.

  1. Shipper calls locally and quote the PRG number DHL gives after the booking is done and reschedule
  2. You create a new booking with a new collection set

UPS

PRINT RETURN LABEL (an extra £1.34 per parcel on top of quote) - the portal creates the label, customer needs to send the label over to the shipper and ask them to contact their local UPS to arrange the collection time.

ELECTRONIC RETURN LABEL (an extra £1.60 per parcel on top of quote)- customer creates the booking on the portal, UPS send an electronic label over to the email address on the collection details (no copy on the portal) along with instructions to contact local UPS to arrange collection time.

RETURN SERVICE ONE ATTEMPT (an extra £4.39 per parcel on top of quote)- customer creates the booking on the portal. The UPS driver will go into the collection point the next working day with the label to collect. If the shipment isn’t ready the driver will leave the label with the them and advise them to call UPS when it is ready.

Local courier will not see tracking number as booked in on their system because shipper will need to schedule/book a collection.

Shipper will have to call local courier with tracking number and inform them that they have an import that needs to be collected.
